Gazmend Freitags relationship with Kosovo and the town where he was born is deeply emotional and also an expression of pride in the history of the Albanian nation and the beauty of Albanian nature. That is why he has also immortalized on canvas the Old Stone Bridge (Ura e Gurit), a neighborhood in Prizren with characteristic craft shops and scenic surroundings.
Notwithstanding that he was born on May 25, 1968 in Pataqan i Poshtëm, a community in the Rahovec district of Prizren, since leaving in 1990 he has spent more than half of his life in Germany and Austria and his longing for his hometown and his country connects him emotionally to all that is beautiful and good therein.
