Nocturne at 6
I positioned myself outside number 6 fruit stall where I have always bought or had fruit bought for me for over a year now. The lighting was filled with interesting spills and pools of light overlapping in and around the fruit and the people busying themselves around on this sultry 30º evening.
The Triangle Market was built on the site of an older open market in a once triangular area, this market is strategically placed to cater for campus residents.
I started sketching at dusk and continued until they closed, I’d wanted to celebrate the humble workers who had turned up every day to provide food and essential items for everyone during the covid crisis. Many people living on campus rely on this place for all their goods. The market has stalls of all descriptions selling a spectrum of wares and fresh food, meat fish, vegetables, fruits as well as packaged goods. There is even a stall selling art materials and stationary.
